The GC process is unnerving, tedious and complicated. Choosing you as my lawyer gave me peace of mind and confidence that I will be able to file in time - I filed my labor only in mid-July, but was still able to file 140 and 485 concurrently well within time.

Before this blog, I used to ask questions from all my friends to understand the processes. This blog was just great helping me to be so well informed that I started giving suggestions to my friends. The information was accurate and quickly delivered straight by Rajiv, so I knew I could follow it with confidence. I was really amazed by the quick turnaround on almost all questions posted.

Special thanks to my case manager Heather for giving personal attention, being very responsive and working so many late hours to help us out. I want you to know that your work has helped me and my family very much. The past 2 months have been really taxing for you. I feel you really deserve a good vacation after August 17

Continue the great work. Expand your firm and help more people. Many Thanks.

Interview at Philadelphia

11:15 Went through security then directed to the appropriate waiting room;

There were other couples, and I must say the office really looked busy as there were many IO’s. Well I assumed they were at the rate in which families being interviewed were going in and out.

Our chance came eventually and we were called in by a fine lady, whose first thing was to swear us in. She appeared like she wanted to laugh through some of the proceedings although she kept a serious look.

Some of the questions asked;

A P P R O V E D - In Atlanta, GA. Today!

Hey Everyone!

We got approved in Atlanta today. Everything went really well, but anyways I wanted to share my experience with all of you:

Left from Alabama at 7:30 AM. Took us about Two hours to get there.

The DO is a 3 story building with the USCIS logo and name... impressive and yet scary.

We entered they building at 11:23 AM and went through the security (metal detector and x-rays) Make sure you empty your pockets!

We got our GC approved on June 5th, 2007 and the cards were received within a week. The journey was long with several roadblocks. The expertise of Mathew Chacko did the trick. His commitment to excellence and above par communication always made me feel at ease. I knew a professional is handling the case. The fee was so reasonable. Our earlier attorneys were more interested in prepayments than service. Mathew's knowledge and expertise on immigration matters is remarkable. I would strongly recommend the services of this firm.

My wife and I got the I-485 approval email notice in June 2007. We filed the I-485 in April 2007. The LC was done by another law firm and I switched to Rajiv and filled the I-140 and I-485. The I-140 was approved in one week under Premium Processing and I-485 was approved in less than 3 months. I told our company HR to switch to Rajiv S. Khanna and we are processing our employee’s H1B and GC through Rajiv. During the GC process, our company was sold and Rajiv and Mathew helped to resolve this issue, rather than starting the GC process from scratch. Mostly I dealt with Prerna Mehta and Mathew Chacko. Both provide me excellent help and support during the process. I dealt with Rita Dhakal for a short period of time and she helped me in great deal. Mathew called me on my cell phone to answer my questions, and he was polite, fast and correct. Also, I praise Prerna for checking my documents and forms thoroughly (I did not get any RFE) and providing correction/feed back immediately. I found the Rajiv’s immigration forum would be one of the best places for gaining more knowledge, and I would recommend every one to read and learn more.

I applied for a spouse sponsored GC and extensively used services of Mr. Khanna's office. Mr. Chacko was an enormous help throughout the process. Though we only paid one time consultation fees, he was willing to respond to our followup emails and phone calls. Our application got processed in record time and I definitely give credit to Mr. Chacko for his inputs throughout the process. I will definitely refer Mr. Khanna's services to friends and family in the future.

GC for Parents - AOS and CP - Information Source

One can petition for parents only if the petitioner is US Citizen. GC holder or LPR cannot apply for parents.

Parents cases of USC are processed differently from the Spouse of USC though they come under the same category.

If parents are already in US, they can go thru the AOS process or CP.

If parents are outside of US, they can go thru the CP only.

For Whom Are You Petitioning?

For AOS or CP, I-130 is the common form.
