USCIS Policy Alert on the Biometrics Requirement for Naturalization

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is updating policy guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual to specify that every naturalization applicant must provide biometrics regardless of age, unless the applicant qualifies for a fingerprint waiver due to certain medical conditions.

USCIS to Naturalize 15,000 New Citizens During Independence Day Holiday

WASHINGTON U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate the 241st  anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and the nation’s birthday, by welcoming nearly 15,000 new U.S. citizens during more than 65 Independence Day-themed naturalization ceremonies across the country this year.

Form N-400, Application for Naturalization - Filing Locations Updated on Website

USCIS has updated the N-400 filing locations on the website's N-400 page under the Where to File section to correct an error. If you properly filed an application from June 12-23 to the locations that were previously listed on this page, the processing of your application will not be affected. See a list of the updated filing locations at uscis.gov/n-400.

New Immigrants Can Now Create a USCIS Online Account When Paying the USCIS Immigrant Fee

A message for new immigrants:

You now have the option to create a USCIS online account when you pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee. A USCIS online account will let you easily track the status of your Green Card, receive electronic notifications and case updates, and change and update your mailing address.

Although anyone can pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee on your behalf, only you can create a USCIS online account. Creating a USCIS online account is voluntary.

USCIS Announces Citizenship Resource Center Improved for Mobile Devices

Beginning December 12, the free citizenship preparation and study materials in USCIS’ Citizenship Resource Center will be easier to use from a smartphone, tablet or other mobile device. Among the improvements, the new design puts key navigational links inside a single “hamburger” icon like that found on many other mobile sites. This redesign follows the launch of mobile friendly design on other parts of uscis.gov and uscis.gov/es earlier this year.
