All,
Had a successful interview and oath yesterday, finally became a US citizen.
I had the appointment at 9:40 AM. Entered into the facility at 9:10 AM, there are already around 50 people waiting. I was called in at 10:30 AM; the officer who interviewed me was polite. He asked me few questions related to my occupation, current address etc, and also asked me if everything in the application is accurate. Gave me a test of ten questions (out of the 100), it took only two minutes to answer them.
Also officer seems to be immersed in paperwork and did not ask any follow up questions. The whole process was complete in less than ten minutes. He gave me a receipt and asked to appear for oath at 12:30 PM.
I choose to stay put in the reception area for completion of oath and did not go out for lunch. Starting Noon, the clerk at the reception starting calling people who passed the exam and collected their greencards, and also had them verify all the information on the naturalization certificate.
The oath ceremony started at 12:30 PM and took around one hour. The ceremony included a short video and couple of short speeches. Finally left the facility at 2:00 PM had lunch and went directly to the post office and applied for the US Passport.
