EAD and Advance Parole was applied and Jul 8, 2004 along with I140 and I485(concurrent). Received by Vermont service center on Jul 13, 2004. Approved on Jul 28,2004. Recieved EAD card on Aug 2,2004. I saw on Web my advance parole also was approved.So EAD and Advance parole in 15 days.
I got my passsport stamped at the local INS office today. Rajiv and his team have done a wonderful job ! They answer any questions you might have even after your case is approved ! The entire Green Card process took only 19 months with no RFE issued at any stage as far as paperwork is concerned. I most definitely would recommend Mr.Khanna's office for GC and H1-B cases.
My wife and I received I-485 approval notice and our passports stamped in Charleston, SC on March 6th, 2002. I started the process in Nov 1998 with Rajiv Khanna. I had a 11 AM appointment (ND-4/6/2004 at VSC) via infopass but showed up at 10 AM just in case.
1. The guard at the building entrance asked me to enter at the beginning of the Q since I had an infopass appointment.
2. In room 310, I stood in the line just like everyone else. Got a ticket at 10:30 and headed to room 900 on the 9th floor.
3. My number was called at 11 AM and I handed my infopass appointment sheet and filled out 765 form. The person at the counter asked me to wait for the number to be called again.
Today the 9th of August 2004 i went to the local immigration office of New york in order to receive the EAD card as they told me over the phone when i call earlier the day that made my application 90 . I filled a form i-539 for the v-status and a form 765 for the EAD on april 29 2004, they gave me the notice with the date 7th of may 2004 . When i arrive at the local office with my infopass apointement thing went very easy . You go to the room 310 for a number , filled out the application then went to the 9 floor on room 900 .
On December 23, 2011, the President signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012. The legislation contains language prohibiting the Department from implementing the Wage Rule during the 2012 fiscal year. The U.S. Consulate General in Chennai will no longer process Immigrant Visa petitions as of January 1, 2012. The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and U.S. Consulate in Mumbai will become the only acceptance centers in India for Immigrant Visas. The Immigrant Visa allows an individual to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis, as well as provides the immigrant the opportunity to work towards U.S. citizenship.
I am the spouse of an O-1 visa holder and we live in the US (so I am on an O-3). His company is putting together the application for his green card, but do they need to do a separate one for me too? Or do I get one automatically if he gets one? Or do I have to wait until he gets one and then he applies for one for me? And what about our children - too young to work yet, but want to make sure they are ok too.
The way it works is that the company can file everyone's AOS (Form I-485) together OR they can first get your husband's I-140 approval and leave you to file the last step (AOS) for the family.
My family and I are about to leave our country and go to the U.S. for our green card and such this end of November, but I have to go back to our country since I want to finish my education there before permanently staying in the U.S. (I only have one year left before graduating in our university) So my question is, how long does it take for a re-entry permit take?
You have two choices: wait after applying for reentry permit to get called for biometrics (you can request expedite base upon your circumstances); OR, apply for reentry permit and leave USA. Come back for biometrics. DO SPEAK with a lawyer to understand the implications.
