Finally day has come. Our passport has been stamped at Cleveland OH on 03/20/2003. This was real long and painful journey but Mr. Rajiv Khanna and his team made it REAL SIMPLE and PLEASANT. The whole GC process started in October 2000 when I called Mr Khanna. I talked with Richa Narang as she started paper work for LABOUR certification. She gave me very valuable tip on how to put my resume online and how to post advertisement in local news paper. Once my Labour was filed I talked with Puja and ask her to start my I140 paper work. I had real trouble in getting financial statement from my company. Puja and Mr Khanna helped me big time by convincing my company. Puja did great job and my paper work was ready before my Labour was done and she filed my I140 same day I got my Labour. That resulted in saving of atleast 1 month. Puja was so good in communication and responding my emails and phone calls I asked her to prepare my I485 documents. She gave me Diane Lombardo's phone number. I talked with Diane and she prepared my I485 documents. Diane is best person you can ever get for I485. She has always replied my emails within 2-3 hours even on weekends. Service she provided was so EXCELLENT that one can only dream of getting these kind of service from any attorney's office. Documentation all these team provided was so good there was no scope of any RFE. I have seen my friends still suffering from mistakes from their attorneys in preparing documents. They started process before me and they are still waiting. I talked with Leila so many times for my status check, finger printing, RFE response. She was always fast in comunicating back. Always happy to respond and most imp available on phone when you call. Another very important person from start to finish, Suman Bhasin. I have talked to her so many times during entire process. Always very polite and highly respectable. She gave me solution to every problem I had. Finally when my case was approved call from Homa on what should I do till I get my Citizenship. Lastly Mr. Khanna for all the help. He always gave me solution to every question, gave me best possible advice on chossing right path for entire process like R/R VS NON R/R. Consular processing VS I485 filing. Every piece of advice and service he gave was best any attorney can give. I don't even have words to thank all of you. You all helped like one big family members. Your team is best in the world for immigration matters. Your team provides warm fussy feeling to all those Indians who come so far after leaving their country and family. May GOD bless you and your TEAM with the BEST of the WISHES so that a LOT many souls like us, can see their DREAMS come TRUE. I am eagerly looking forward to working with you in the future. When we arrived the office, we had to go through general security checks. We handed our appointment confirmation printout from Infopass website: infopass.uscis.gov

Folks,
I thought I'll share my FP experience in Oakland, CA which might be useful to others. I had my FP scheduled for tomorrow but since we have other errands to run tomorrow we went in today at 8:15 AM. To our surprise they did not even question us about the date. They just glanced at our FP notice and gave us a form to fill up. Even before I finished filling my form my number was up.

I  will begin with a sincere thanks for all the information I have got from these forums over the last few months and the amount of confidence I have gained through it.
Now, its my turn give back something by sharing my experience and hope this helps in giving some information to the others like me.

My visa was scheduled for 08:15 AM I reached the car parking in the nearby Malcha Marg parking by 7:45 AM. It is few minutes walk from there. I reached embassy by 7:55 or so. I was with my wife who would get an H4.

Had N-400 interview in Portland, Oregon

Hi there,

I had my N-400 interview in Portland, Oregon this afternoon. At the end, the officer printed the N-652 form and checked two boxes: a) you passed the tests of English and U.S. history and government; and b) Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval.

The interview was smooth and quick. I had 2 tickets for speeding, which I had included in my N-400 application. He said it was good I had included them because I got a citation (ticket), but that they're only interested in violations that involve arrests.

The process was very smooth and lasted for 3 full minutes. USCIS officer was professional and friendly and started the interview right on time. He asked me to take the oath first and then reviewed the application. Then he asked me to write a simple sentense, went through history & civics questions (all from the list of 100 USCIS has on its website) and once I answered first six correctly told me that I passed the exam and the application is approved. He said I will get oath notice in 1 - 2 months.

It was a long and painful journey of seven years. But, at the end I finally got my GC. Through out this procedure the only positive thing was the help and support I received from Mr. khanna's office. I first applied EB-3 in 2006. Got my EAD through EB-3 application. Then reapplied for EB-2 in 2012 and got my GC in August, 2013. Through out the process Mr. Khanna and his staff was so helpful and thorogh that it made my journey lot easier. I would specially like to mention Suman, Mathew, Seema and Bharathi for all their help extended to me. I can not experess enough thanks to them. I would recommend Law offices of Rajiv Khanna for anybody whoever need any help on immigration issue. They are simply the best immigration attorney in this country!

My 22 year journey comes to a close

Hello All - Just want to let you know of my interview experience today. We were scheduled for a 9:00 AM interview at the Baltimore office, and having woken up bright and early, both my wife and I were in the waiting room by 8:10 AM. Fairly simple process to check in once you get in the building and find the room. It was early so there just a few people there waiting. Seemed like people were getting called in quickly and the environment was pretty light, stress-free. I was called in 30 minutes early and was ready to go.

Change in J-1 Status

Question details

I came to U.S by J-1 visa and now I am married to a U.S citizen.I got married in the first month here and my DS form will expire after 2 months. What will be my status?

Two concerns:

1. Your J-1 visa must not be subject to the two-year HRR; and

2) You must not have had a pre-conceived intention to get married when you entered the USA.

Both are serious issues. Consult a lawyer please.

B Visa Extensions

Q1.I lost my mother recently and we brought our father soon after that. I have an older brother and both of us stay here in USA. He has a medical condition - semi-paralytic. My father has a B-2 multiple entry visa; arrived here on 27th Jan 2013, I-94 expired on July 26th and visa extension applied on June 14th. How long can he stay here in US until the decision is made? Will his multiple Visa get rejected if his extension is denied?

Q2. What is recommended, he leaves immediately or waits until his extension decision comes?

A1. Normally I don’t recommend applying for extensions of tourist or business visa unless you have a very good reason for it. What happens is technically of course you can stay here while the decision is pending, but no later than the duration you have asked for in the extension application. Let’s say you asked for extension till September. You can stay here till the decision is made, but no later than September. But what happens is when you go for multiple entry visa stamping consulates do not like people getting extensions.

Supplemental Guidance for Processing I-601A Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers

As announced in Ref A, 9 FAM 40.92 has been updated with information and guidance to consular officers related to a new final rule permitting certain immediate relatives of U.S. citizens to apply to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) for an I-601A provisional waiver of unlawful presence before leaving the United States for their immigrant visa appointments. This cable provides supplemental information for posts in processing these cases.
