I have come here with my husband who is on L-1 visa. I have L-2 visa. What work opportunities are there if I have no EAD. Second,I have gone to the office to get SSN. But the lady there told me that I don't require that and they refused to give me.What could be the reason I didn't get that. Can I apply for EAD if I don't have SSN? I'm here in US for 6 months. I want to work as I have done my MBA.
I am working in USA on my H-1B right now and my wife is on H-4B. My H1 is valid until 2013. I am planning to leave my job within next few months. After that, we want to visit entire USA for few months before I go back home. Can I change from H-1B(for myself)+ H-4B(for my wife)or B-2 Visitor for both?
You can and should apply for B2 for both.

I would like to thank the team of Mr. Khanna. He has been of great help. Initially they filed my case for H1B and got approved with no problem and now I am applying through Mr. Khanna and Mr. Mathew for EB2 GC. My case is very complicated so Khanna ji gave two consutations without any charge and spoke about all the details. My employer offered me her attorney but still I have so much of confidence in Mr. Khanna that I am filling through him. I am sure despite my case being so different, he will leave no stones unturned to represent my case in the best manner. I will update as we will progress. Once again Mr. Khanna thanks for being so cooperative and visionary.
I did three year bachelor of computer science degree from India in June 2005.Then I joined master of computer Applications program (M.C.A) in India in Aug 2005 (3 year program). While still being enrolled in masters degree program, I joined a full time job in a software company in Jan 2006. I was awarded master of computer applications(3 year degree)in 2008, until dec 2010 (5 years) I worked with the same company in a full time job. after i moved to us. Now I am working with US based company from 7 months as a full time employee.(total experience 5 years 7 months).Do I qualify for EB-2.
You qualify.
I have a brother here in US who is diagnosed with cancer. I would like my mom and brother who live in India to come and visit him. What type of visa should they apply for in India and how long will it take? On which visa can they come as soon as possible.
Tourist visa seems to be appropriate. Times vary by consulate and are usually very short -- often visa is issued the same day an application is made. You can also get an appointment for emergent reasons.

Telecon Recap: Application Processing Times: A Conversation with USCIS Office of Performance and Quality
Overview
On April 27, 2011, the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman’s Office (Ombudsman’s Office) hosted a public teleconference regarding U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) processing times and interviewed Mr. Joseph Moore, Chief of the USCIS Office of Performance and Quality (OPQ), for this conversation.
Mr. Moore provided a brief overview of the functions of OPQ, as summarized below:
Thanks to Leila and Shivane for the wonderful work and prompt response to all the requests.
Joy, Charu, Rena, Ursula and the rest were very patient in answering any questions I had.
Joy was handling my case and she is really good. These guys are the best.
I have had several years of experience dealing with incompetent and certainly less informed immigration lawyers than myself. Changing to Mr. Khanna's office was probably one of most sensible things I've done. He and his staff are well informed, knowledgeable, respond very promptly to questions and provided me with a level of service that I would expect from an expert in the field of immigration law.
Your service is one of the best.
We take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Rajiv S. Khanna & his wonderful staff for working on our Employment Based Green Card processing.
Our Green Cards are approved on Jun 21, 2004 (Both mine & my wife's cases approved). Rajiv's office had shown excellent professional quality and was keen on keeping warm client relationship throughout the GC processing. The service was always courteous, professional and prompt. They were very prompt in responding to Service Center as well as responding to our queries. Any time I was able to contact the staff and they have given us a feeling that we are talking to some of our friends. They were really prompt in answering either by email or phone. We would like to thank Leila, Dian, Suman, Pooja & Mathew for their great job done for us. I will definitely recommend the Law firm of Rajiv S. Khanna to my friends and whoever ask for an opinion.
We wish all the best to Rajiv and his staff for their current efforts to make the GC processing more efficient from Govt.'s side. May God bless you All.
My thanks to Mr.Rajiv Khanna and his excellent team. My special thanks to Subha and Shivane for their professional and prompt service. My hearty thanks to Diane and Leila. My thanks to your accounting team who handled the accounting process very smoothly with my company’s accounting team.
I am very grateful to all of you. Thanks.
My experience with your firm has been wonderful. The service was always courteous, professional and prompt. You, Charu, Suman, Matthew and Diane always answered our questions promptly. Any document that I sent to you was
processed expeditiously.
I have mentioned your firm to several of my friends who needed an attorney.
Feel free to use our names as reference.
Regards,
I take this opportunity to thank Mr.Rajiv Khanna, Ms.Ursula Jara and Ms.Charu Bhagat for getting my H1B petition approved in a very short time. I am grateful to them for answering all my queries promptly and with patience. I gladly recommend Mr.Khanna’s firm.
I just got my GC approved (August 2014). I am very thankful to Rajiv, Matthew and their team for their excellent work. Prerna was very helpful and took utmost care in handling my case.
My current employer is failing the GC. Below is the job requirement. My total experience is with the current employer only (2.5 years in INDIA+4.5 years in USA)
Job requirement:
Education: Master’s degree, or equiv., in computer information systems or related field
Experience: At least 1 year in position offered or in design defect fixes/enhancements
I have US equivalent Master degree. My attorney said for the experience, we can show your current employer INDIA experience(2.5 years for which i worked in India for the same employer and came USA for the same employer).
Can we show current employer India experience while filing PERM?
Generally speaking, you can use the experience gained with an employer who has a tax ID number other than your petitioning employer.
I have worked with Mr. Khanna's law firm over the past 4 years for my Green Card process and the experience has been extremely satisfying ! Everyone that has to go through immigration process knows how stressful the whole situation can be and you need to have a lawyer by your side who puts you at complete ease. Mr. Khanna and his team is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and outstanding in their service. I appreciate their invaluable advice/legal counsel and their promptness in every matter. The whole team is meticulous, very responsive and it's comforting to know that you have such a great lawyer by your side. I'm glad that I made the right decision in switching to Mr. Khanna's law firm and I strongly recommend them to anyone that needs immigration counsel !
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for eligible nationals of Sudan for an additional 18 months, effective Nov. 3, 2014, through May 2, 2016.
Current Sudanese beneficiaries seeking to extend their TPS status must re-register during a 60-day period that runs from Sept. 2, 2014, through Nov. 3, 2014. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) encourages beneficiaries to re-register as soon as possible once the 60-day period begins. USCIS will not accept applications before Sept. 2, 2014.
I cannot thank enough the Law Offices of Mr. Khanna for getting me and my wife our L1-A and L2 approvals. A special thank you to Mr. Jagbir, who assisted us, guided us and was there for us the entire time. He was very patient, helpful and informative, and Mr. Khanna was always available to answer my never ending questions. I can confidently say that it is because of their hard work and dedication to this case that we got our approval. We had a very complicated case whereby our LI-A had already expired, and the extension was denied. Mr. Jagbir presented our case with updated information and new evidence, and after he responded to the RFE with a 700 page file, our case was approved. Thank you so very much Mr. Khanna, Mr. Jagbir and Ms. Anna, we will forever be indebted to you.
