I had an interesting N-400 interview yesterday. Don't know where to start but the IO stemmed out of the office with my thick file while I was waiting for my attorney to arrive. I quickly summed him up to be a hard ass. BTW, I have been an officer of the law for a little over four years now...My attorney arrived shortly after and we went to this small conference room. I was sworn to tell the truth, and the interview started.

Hi,My name is Kanchana and the Law Offices of Rajiv Khanna have processed my LC through the PERM process. I must say that a great job was done by them especially Vijay Durgam and Pramita , in promptly following up with our paperwork and doing the needful. I got my LC Certified in sweeping 7 days from the date filed. Their knowledge in this field is commendable and I thank myself everyday that I chose to go with their law offices. My complete vote for them and I only hope the rest of the GC process goes just as smooth.
Great work guys, thanks once again.
My husband has an I-140 approved from Company A ( Priority Date April 2008 , EB2). He is now eligible for EB1 under Employer B ( He is currently on L1 A ). Can his priority date from EB2 be ported to EB1 ?
Video Transcript
The answer is Yes. The main thing is priority dates for EB-2 and EB-1 can be ported and there is no particular format for this. This is supposed to be automatic. The government is supposed to keep a track of that. More...

1. Planning to transfer from H1B to H4, I-140 approved with Jan2015 priority date. Can I keep the priority date after I change to H4? Intend to come back to H1 after few months. 2. Currently I'm 7 months pregnant and I work for a consulting company (employer) on H1B visa, Can I take maternity leave on H1B? If yes, for how long? will it be a paid or unpaid leave? If not do I need to convert status from H1B to H4? If yes, can I change it back to H1B and work again or need to apply for a fresh visa?
Here is an interesting question, if I am on H-1 and I convert to H-4, does that kill or affect my priority date ? Answer is no. If you were on H-1 and you had filed a Green Card, you got a priority date and I-140 was approved now you changed to H-4 that does not kill your priority date. That's not the problem.
And the second part of the question was can I take maternity leave on H-1?

It has been a long and anxious path to a GC application lasting a little over ten years but I would like to thank Rajivji and especially Art and Mark who have helped by providing step by step support through the entire process, including multiple H1B renewals and EAD renewals. Thank you for being a helpful and knowledgeable team.
