In a welcome move, US government is showing some understanding of the economic benefits of business and employment-based immigration.
Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas have outlined a series of policy, operational, and outreach efforts to fuel the nation's economy and stimulate investment by attracting foreign entrepreneurial talent of exceptional ability or who otherwise can create jobs, form startup companies, and invest capital in areas of high unemployment.

EB-2 eligibility
Question details
I have Bachelor of science in nursing with 10 years of progressive experience (8 yrs in my home country then more than 2 yrs here in USA), do I qualify for EB2? What are the chances to get approved? If the company will file for concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485; will they give me working permit or EAD within 60 days though I-140 under EB2 category is still pending?
If your job requires BS + 5 years experience and you meet the requirements, EB2 is a possibility. Assuming you are born in a country for which the EB2 priority dates are current, you should get an EAD while the 140 and AOS are still pending.
USCIS Investigation Questions

If you are a member of our compliance group of employers, attend the free conference call scheduled for employers only on 7th July 2011. Membership in the group is by invitation only.

H-4 Visa and Status Validity

H-1 cap count 12,200
As of April 15, 2011, USCIS has issued receipts on approximately 7,100 H-1B cap-subject petitions and 5,100 H-1B petitions for aliens with advanced degrees.
H-1B Cap Count 10,400
As of April 7, 2011, approximately 10,400 H-1B cap-subject petitions were receipted. Out of these 4,500 H-1B petitions are for aliens with advanced degrees.
Important! TVU Students With NTA's, Come Meet With ICE
The representatives of ICE and SEVP would be visiting the Embassy of India (2107 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington DC 20008) on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 10.30 AM. Former TVU students interested in attending this meeting to interact with the officials of the ICE and SEVP should let us know. Our Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission would also be present during the meeting.
Government Shutdown -- impact on immigration law
If Congress is unable to reach an agreement regarding the budget on Friday, the government will close at midnight on Saturday April 9. From that time forward, only "essential" government workers remain on the job. Here is a breakdown by agency:
CBP: Inspection and law enforcement are considered "essential personnel" though they will probably have fewer officers on duty.
