U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced that it is now issuing employment and travel authorization on a single card for certain applicants filing an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Form I-485.

My mother wants to travel to US on her existing visit visa. We recently filed for her GC petition as well. We are wondering if she is allowed to travel on that same visit visa. Her visit visa is also expiring soon, would that be a problem coming into USA?
She will be at the mercy of CBP at the airport. They can decline entry.

I appreciate the frank advice Mr.Khanna gave me. He could have taken on my case and made himself some money but he chose to tell me frankly that it was not worth pursuing the application at this stage. He also advised me on what alternative steps i should take instead. And he did it free of charge!

In November 2010, USCIS published a revised Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, which became effective on Dec. 23, 2010. Due to a number of inquiries regarding Part 6 of the Form I-129, "Certification Regarding the Release of Controlled Technology or Technical Data to Foreign Persons in the United States", USCIS advised petitioners that they would not be required to complete this section until Feb. 20, 2011. Petitions postmarked on or after Feb. 20, 2011, must complete Part 6 of the Form I-129.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) supports the efforts of immigration practitioners who volunteer to assist aliens at community events. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that, until further notice, DHS Disciplinary Counsel does not intend to initiate disciplinary proceedings against practitioners (attorneys and accredited representatives) based solely on the failure to submit a Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative (Form G-28) in relation to pro bono services provided at group assistance events.

I am currently on H-1B , which expires on 20 Jan 2018 , Instead of filing H-1B extension my employer filed for my COS on L-1A , As i meet all the eligibility criteria. I also have my EB-1C I-140 approved , but we cannot file 485 as the dates are not current. My L-1A COS is rejected (Denied) . Will this impact my already approved I-140 ?

If your L-1A is denied and not just the change of status, then we have to look at the reason for denial. Typically L-1A is denied if the government feels that you don't rise to the level of an executive or managerial employee for whatever reason, whether it is on the foreign country side or the US side. If you don't rise to that level government can deny your L-1A and if they are denying the L-1A on that basis and your EB-1C I-140 was approved also with the same or similar job description, then obviously there is a potential impact because the criteria used for determining your eligibility for L-1A and EB-1C are the same as far as qualifying as a manager is concerned.
So indirectly because you are using the same job description you could have a problem with the L-1A denial. Yet now, if it is a change of status which can happen because you file your application two days late then the green card I-140 remains unaffected but then you have to worry about the unlawful presence problem. If you have been unlawfully present for 180 days you cannot come back for 3 years, except with a 212(d)(3) waiver and that's always a possibility in cases like these.

New tool provides option to reschedule a biometric services appointment online without calling the USCIS Contact Center
WASHINGTON—On June 28, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services launched a new self-service tool allowing benefit requestors, and their attorneys and accredited representatives, to reschedule most biometric services appointments before the date of the appointment.
After you file your application, petition, or request, if you need to provide your fingerprints, photograph, or signature, USCIS will schedule your biometric services appointment at a local Application Support Center (ASC). USCIS has the general authority to require and collect biometrics from any applicant, petitioner, sponsor, beneficiary, or other individual residing in the United States for any immigration and naturalization benefit. See 8 CFR 103.2 (b)(9).

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced it would update its visa availability approach for managing the inventory of Form I-526, Immigrant Petition by Alien Investor, to promote greater efficiency.
I started working in the USA at my current company as a technical engineer, and they sponsored my GC application under the EB2 category. Recently, I was promoted to a manager position where I now oversee a team of 10 individuals. I'm wondering if I qualify to apply for a GC under the EB1 category based on my managerial role.
What are the available avenues to pursue a GC under EB1 as a manager in my current situation?
The answer is yes, but remember, EB-1C requires that you have worked for a branch or a sister company affiliate of this company outside the U.S. for one year as an executive or managerial employee, or equivalent.
I would like to thank Mr. Mathew Chako and his team, in particular, Heather, for their professionalism and dedication to customers for making my Green Card process as smooth as it was. Even with an instance where I made a huge silly mistake that could have dire consequences, Mathew and Heather were extremely swift and professional in following up with USCIS with the required steps completed to ensure I did not get in trouble. And my process still went through without a problem. I got my Family-based Green Card within 7 months. Not to mention that Mathew and his team have always been responsive to my emails as well as phone calls. Heather is always available via phone for guidance which gave me an extra sense of security.
I am sure Mathew and his team will keep doing wonders for their clients, given that clients also fulfill all requirements for the process. I could not thank these guys enough.
