A very professional group of people working to help us out in all aspects. Their approach, quick response to queries and most of all their initiative and drive to follow up for us are fasinating. Their work definitely needs appreciation.
We got our 485 approval (07/13/02) and got that stamped in the passport from the local INS. There are no words to thank Rajiv S Khanna and his team. Diane, Leila, and Suman had helped us in each and every stage and more important thing is, they return the call in matter of hours. Very prompt and courteous in reply, and they are all highly talented. There were no unanswered questions and I would recommend Rajiv and his team to anyone. With their teams doing the process, I knew I am in safe hands. Thank you all.
My H-1B premium processing was done by the offices of Rajiv Khanna and his staff. He and his staff (Sirisha) were really helpful and I wish to thank them for the same. My overall experience: I feel he is a BRAND NAME in this business. "His name says it all"

Background: Wife's H1 expires in a couple of weeks. Needed EAD card. Had filed I-765 on sept 07 2005. Five months and no EAD card yet. Checked with INS 800 number. Found the card was at Missouri ( Lee's Summit ) service center. Since time was running out on the H1 B. Took an appointment at Detroit Office. For interim EAD. Here is a sequence of events for some one else who might need an interim EAD in Detroit MI.
Yesterday myself and my wife oath was completed. I had my interview on 18 Sept @ 2:30 but I didn't received the oath letter since it was too late. My wife got a call from Atlanta USCIS this Monday and was called for the oath ceremony on Wednesday. My wife requested them to have oath with me. USCIA call us again on Wednesday morning and scheduled oath for both of us on Thursday @ 1:30 PM. I never received the oath letter in mail.
yeaaaahh..i am so happy and that wouldnt have been possible w/o this forum and all the help I have received!
We had our interview appointment at 11.05. We left home at about 8.00. And of course, Chicago would not be Chicago if there was no traffic jam, so we left the highway to take an alternate route. After spotting the INS building, we looked for a parking. We enter the building at 10.00.
Alright, first off thank you to everyone that helped me out with what to bring!
We showed up with about 30 pounds of paperwork, photos, tax returns, wedding albums, cards.
Our appointment was at 1 pm, we arrived around 12:15. We got in the lineup, and waited. and waited and waited. (got a little warm considering it is still in the high 80s, 90s) At about 12:55 they let us in along with a swarm of other people coming in for the same thing (and some naturalization cases) We signed in, and waited right up at the door to be called.
Beginning 30 April 2013, CBP will roll out electronic version of Form I-94, Arrival Departure Record. We recommended that all visitors print out and keep a paper copy of the Form for their records at all times. There are still important legal issues that remain unsettled, including, the proper training and education of DHS/CBP of its own officers.

I had my interview today in downtown miami. The entire process took just less than an hour of which around 45 min was the wait for my turn. I had taken so much with me but nothing was needed except the passport and green card. I did get one unusual question related to my mailing address. I have always used a P.O Box as a mailing address so she just asked why P.O Box, why not use the home address. I just told her I change residences quite often ( am a single guy ) and its just easy for me to get a P.O Box near work.

What This Means for H-2B Employers
USCIS, in consultation with DOL, prepared the following frequently asked questions and answers.
Q1. When does the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) expect me to sign an electronically filed H-2A and H-2B temporary labor certification (TLC) application?
As my husband's H-1 expires, we are moving back to India around August/September. I am exploring options to quit my job (also on H1) in the last 2-3 months, but since this is a short period, I'm looking for the most convenient and economical transition. Can you please advise:
- Convert to H4: What is the expense incurred and how much in advance would I have to apply for this?
- I have a tourist visa that is valid till 2016- can I take advantage of this?
- Is there a grace period after leaving a job here (giving up your H1) that I can take advantage of if I time it properly?
You will need to figure out the filing fees for Form I-539 (used for H-4). You can convert to tourist visa (status) if you leave USA and reenter using the tourist visa. To let you back in or not would be at the discretion of the CBP officer who interviews you.
Rajiv Khanna Law offices is a very professional unit of people who help you right on the point. The best service and clear distinction offered by them stands in the way they present the case as it is and also with the right kind of knowledge in the limited amount of time available to make a decision. I am grateful for their truthful advise on my travel during H1B approval.
