Hi,
I want to share my interim EAD experience. I went to the local office on July 6 in Arlington,VA.
Well, I arrived at INS @ 7:15AM. There were like 250 to 300 people before me. By the time I got my EAD card it was 4:30PM. There is only one person that was helping issues related to work permits. Part of the reason for the delay was they closed early on july 2.
Anyways, be prepared to take day off (for those who are already occupied during the day) when you plan to go for your interim EAD.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC LEGAL SERVICES!!!It's with heartfelt appreciation and gratitude that I want to express my Thanks to the Staff of Law Offices of Rajiv S. Khanna, especially to Ms. Charu Bhagat, Ms. Reena Wadel and Ms. Sirisha Durgam for the patience with which they worked my very complicated case. I was basically in an out-of-status mode in the US for a long time with my past employment and it was a big question as to whether I would get my Visa transfer approved. Thanks to the ABSOLUTELY METICULOUS preparation of documents and the constant communication between INS and Rajiv S. Khanna's Office that amde it happen. The only thing that I would STRONGLY reccomend anyone that has the privilege of getting help from Rajiv S. Khanna's Office is...1. Be Patient and WORK (really, without question) with the lawyers who are handling your case.2. PROVIDE every bit of documentation asked for and be very PROMPT with it.3. Respect their effort in helping you and do not be impatient.Ms. Sirisha, Ms. Charu and Ms. Reena were three of the most friendly and helpful persons. Thank you so much!!Aravinth Kaliappan
It was a very pleasant experience working with the Law Offices. I would like to make a special reference to the person I worked with who kept me informed on each step during the process removing any anxiety - I did get prompt responses on all queries and she returned every call, that was amazing. I look forward to working with this team again when I apply for my Green Card.Thank and appreciate all your efforts.
Rajiv Khanna and the people at his office did a very good job in processing my Green card. All of the people(Leila Lehman, Shivane Sharma, and others), I used to contact were very knowledgable. It has been a nice experience! Thanks and keep up your good work!
Had our EADs done in a day too.My wife had a job offer confirmed but did not have an EAD on the day she received her offer letter.Since we had passed the wait period to qualify for an interim EAD we went on a expedition to the BCIS office at 5am and were among the 20's in the line.Got it done in less than a hour and drove to the nearby office for Photo.Had to wait for the office to open the counters and were one among the first few to get it done.Everything was done by 10.30am and my wife got her job too
I applied for an EAD in April 2004 along with an I-485 etc. The EAD was applied for through e-file.
I heard nothing for 90 days, then made an appointment with Tampa USCIS.
I arrived and was told that as I e-filed the EAD application before I received my I-485 notice of action (but after I sent the I-485 pack) that my EAD COULD be denied. I was told that they couldn't issue an interim EAD and that I'd need to apply again. She then laughed at me and I was asked to leave for no reason.
They say about 30 days, but my wife got the letter in 2 weeks. Once she has this letter, it was pretty easy for her to get that interim EAD. They generally dont listen to you...unless you follow their procedures.
1. Got in line at 4:15AM. 8 people in front of me.
2. At 7:30AM, they started taking folks with appointments.
3. At 8:00AM, they started taking walk-ins.
4. After security check, sent to the 3rd floor.
5. Told that computers for the ticket system are down, only I90 applicants can be processed.
6. Started giving out numbers manually. Mine was E0002. I176 receipt was taken.
7. Was sent to the EAD section across the big room.
8. Asked to fill I765 application. I brought one from home.
It was quick and no issues.
I want to thank Pramita, for her work accuracy and prompt communication, because of which i recieve LC Approval soon. I hope to complete other steps sooner.
thanks,
Rama Rao
I want to thank Pramita for her good work. I really appreciate the level of service you have provided to me during last 4 months of LC filing . I am also amazed with the fast and accurate quality of commucation provided to my all queries by you.
I hope I will continue to get same level of service for next steps from Rajiv Khnana law Office.
I was in a difficult situation with a missing labor certificate, pending I-140 due to that and fighting with DOL, Mr.Khanna's office did an excellent job especially Mr.Jitesh dealt it through every possible opportunity and finally got it resolved by taking it through lawsuit against DOL. This shows that their experience counts while dealing with typical cases and troublesome situations. There has been a great communication through email on every step and effort to get this resolved. I personally thank Mr.Khanna, Suman, Rita, Amrita, others that have got involved and Jitesh.
I am really really thankful of Mr. Khanna and his team [Mr. Jitesh Malik, Anna Baker....] for working diligently in my case. I didnt have much time to get through my visa process. But Mr. Khanna & his team adviced me properly and worked step by step with me and my employer & kept me on the same page.
I wish good luck to Mr. Khanna & his team.
very helpful
I have been using the services of The Law Office of Rajiv Khanna for a while now. Labor certification in my case was recently approved, following conversion to RIR. The window for conducting recruitment and preparing the package was small, only 4 months. In addition, I was away for a month on vacation during this time. However, with my employer's and Vijay's help, I was able to complete the recruitment process on time. Vijay was very patient and professional dealing with my employer and me, despite some delays at my end.
In spite of the fact that my case was closed mistakenly by backlog center, Rajiv Khanna's team were great in communicating with backlog center and was successful to reopen my case. Finally my labor got certified. My special thanks to Vijay and Mathew for working on my case and handling my frustration patiently, responding to me every time I had questions. Even when I had to consult Mr Rajiv Khanna, he was available to talk personally with no extra cost with his expert suggestions. I am really grateful to each and everyone at your office.
I honestly feel the fee we pay is nothing when you compare to the services we get from Rajiv Khanna’s office.
I sincerely suggest you folks better spend little more money and be in safe and experienced hands like Rajiv Khanna. Its all worth while. Immigration is a long and complicated process and you need expert suggestions all the way till the end and I don’t think anyone will handle better than this folks.
If you don’t believe me, Check yourself, you even get a free phone consultation from Mr Rajiv Khanna where as others charge you big time per hour….
Thanks again!
I am very much impressed with the professionalism of Richa Narang, one of Mr Khanna's staffers. She was very patient and worked very hard to complete all the forms and putting the supporting documents together before filing with USCIS. I used the services of Mr Khanna's firm to file for Green Card through labor certification (EB2 Non-RIR) in Oct' 2003. In Jan' 2007 the Department of Labor came back asking us to convert non-RIR to a RIR application. Mr Khanna's firm supported me with documentation, news paper ad details and answers to lots of my queries. The RIR application was mailed on 03/29/2007 and I received a notice from US Department of Labor on 04/26/2007 that my labor has been Certified. I really appreciate the hard work put in my Richa Narang and her team. Hopefully the rest of GC process would be quick. I highly recommend Mr.Khanna's office and staff for all immigration purposes. Keep up the good work. Thanks
I would like to sincerely thank Rajiv S. Khanna and his team for doing a great job. I got my Perm Labor and I140 cleared in a very short period of time.
I would specially like to thank Mathew Chacko, Pramita Shidhore and Rita Dhakal who were very helpful to answer all my queries and the professionalism with which they handled my case.
Looking forward to filing my I485.

I would like to thank you all at the law offices, Mr. Khanna, Charu, Rena and all others involved who worked hard on my case. I was quiet nervous as my case was the first such complex cases being sent out (I was on OPT and H1 cap was reached), but I did not have an iota of doubt in the proficiency and efficiency of your office. I am glad I opted for the services of Law Offices of Rajiv Khanna.
Thanks for the great work! sincerely, gary kong
Mr Khanna and his crew are an amazing bunch of people. 6 years ago when I was exploited by my 1st employer Mr Khanna had responded to as SOS email from me.
This willingness to help cemented my decision to come back to Mr. Khanna for my H1 and Green Card application. Throughout both processes Mr. Khanna's entire crew was extremely helpful and responsive. Mr. Khanna's staff understands completely the feeling of insecurity and uncertainty posed by the delay in the immigration process and empathize with their clients.
I Would not hesitate to recommend their services to anybody I know.
It is the personal rapport and responsiveness that makes all the difference.
I received my permanent resident stamp in my passport on June 18, 2004, ending these significant and challenging 5 years of my life. I would like to thank to Rajiv S. Khanna and his staff for their outstanding work to help me in this important process.
I would like to mention that due to the immense I-485 backlog I had to have my EAD and AP renewed each 2 times. The Law offices didn't charge me for the unexpected extra amount of work.
I would like to show my special thanks to Leila Lehman, who was always there to answer instantly to all my questions and worries during the last 27 months of I-485 processing.
Also, I would like to thank to the entire staff especially to Diane Lombardo, Homa Naderi, Lakshmi Kompella, Mathew Chacko, Pooja Sama, Savita Krishnamurthy, Shivane Sharma, Subha Chennunhotta, Suman Bhasin and Vijay Durgam.
I have a couple of friends who went through the permanent residency adjustment of status process helped by the team from the Law Office of Rhajiv S. Khanna, and I witnessed their smooth processing.
I will always think about Mr. Khanna's team as great professionals and great people who helped me with, perhaps, my most important step in my life.
Dear Readers,
My experience went really well perhaps due to changes in the immigration procedures meant to make some applications process faster so that one can go on with life while waiting to gain finally permanent residence status?
I applied for a permanent residence through marriage to a US citizen while in F-1 status. Please note that I applied after our two year anniversary so the conditional permanent resident status would not apply. Here is the time line for my application process:
I thank Mr. Khanna, Suman Basin, Leila Lehman and Diane Lombardo for helping me through the Employment based Green Card processing. The best thing I like about the Law offices of Rajiv S. Khanna is that they are there when you need your questions answered. Efficient and very professional team.
